The Air Filter Market
The U.S. market for air filtration products is in excess of $1 billion and continues to expand. The expansion of the market is driven by continued concern over Indoor Air Quality, more critical process needs within certain industries, and by legislative initiatives being pursued at all levels of government. In addition, new testing standards within industry groups continue to increase overall awareness of maintaining higher degrees of air cleanliness.
A much more active role is being taken by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) relating to both indoor air in commercial buildings, and air being emitted from industrial facilities. This government agency has been working in conjunction with the Research Triangle Institute to develop standards relating to indoor air measurement and analysis, pollution emission control, and contaminants generated and retained within industrial facilities impacting the environment of workers. It is anticipated that these pursuits will impact general HVAC Ventilation Standards, Dust Collection and Fume Control, and measurement of emissions from painting operations.
Economic trends aside, the move toward greater removal of particulate, microorganisms, and VOCs are driving growth within the filtration industry. Greater removal efficiency of these contaminants is increasing the size of the market in overall dollar volume as the upgrades deemed necessary by users are a higher valued product than those being replaced. Removal efficiency and lower energy costs take precedent in todays marketplace over extended life cycles.
The cost of disposal, and regulations governing this activity, are creating an awareness and impacting the buying decisions occurring within this industry.
The average Airguard distributor is growing their total sales at a rate of 15% per year.
