In 2007 Clarcor Air Filtration won the Dealer Design Award presented by The NEWS magazine. The award was given to Airguard Legacy recognizing excellence in product design to assist the HVACR dealer in installation, maintenance, and service, from air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration News Magazine. The Legacy is an all plastic construction making it light weight and easy to install. It is made with a channel flow media, which is a series of preformed channels helping allow free air flow and high dust holding capacity. Beads of adhesive are applied to the media, these hold the channels open providing free air flow. The rigid cell design also makes this filter ideal for difficult operating conditions such as; turbulence, repeated fan shutdown, high moisture, and some chemical or corrosive conditions. Though this filter received an award for its excellent design it is also exceeds LEED/Green requirements and is rated a MERV 14-15.
